1 pkg. yellow cake mix
3.4 oz. pkg. instant vanilla pudding
4 eggs
1/2 cup cold water
1/2 cup dark rum
1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts

Glaze:
1/2 cup butter
1/4 cup water
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup dark rum
1 tsp. vanilla extract

Directions:

In a medium mixing bowl, beat all the cake ingredients, except nuts. Grease and flour a tube pan or 12-cup bundt pan. Sprinkle nuts in pan. Pour cake batter over nuts. Bake in a preheated 350º oven for 1 hour. Cool and invert on serving plate. Glaze: In a small saucepan, melt butter; stir in water and sugar. Boil for 5 minutes. Remove from heat; add rum and vanilla. Prick the top of the cake with a toothpick. Spoon glaze over the top and side of the cake. Allow cake to absorb glaze. Repeat until all the glaze is used up.

This recipe is so simple. It is light and perfect with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Keep it well wrapped, because it just gets better the next day!
