3/4 Cup Crisco Shortening
1 Cup white sugar
1/4 Cup molasses
1 egg

2 Cups flour
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tsp.. Baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ginger

Directions:
Directions:
Combine the first 4 ingredients together
Sift the dry ingredients together
Mix wet and dry ingredients together
Roll into balls then into sugar (don't flatten)

Bake on greased cookie sheets at 350º for 10-12 minutes. Let stand on cookie sheet after baking until they flatten then remove to cooling rack.

I usually double this recipe. They freeze well too.
