1 lb. ground beef
1 medium green pepper, chopped
2 cans (8 oz. each) tomato sauce
1/4 c. water
1 can (12 oz.) whole kernel corn with sweet peppers, drained
1 tbsp. chili powder
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
1/8 tsp. crushed red pepper (optional)
1 can (2.8 oz.) French Fried Onions
1 pkg. (10 oz.) refrigerated biscuits
1/2 c. (2 oz.) shredded cheddar cheese

Preheat oven to 350º. In large skillet, brown ground beef, drain. Add green pepper and cook until tender-crisp. Stir in tomato sauce, water, corn, seasonings and 1/2 of the can of French Fried Onions. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, until heated through. Spoon beef mixture into greased 8x12 baking dish. Cut biscuits in half, arrange around baking dish so cut edges face sides of dish and ends overlap. Bake, uncovered, at 350º for 15 to 20 minutes or until biscuits are done. Top with cheese and remaining onions, bake, uncovered 5 minutes more until onions are golden brown.
