1 cup sugar
1/3 cup crisco shortening
2 eggs
3 tablespoons milk
1 1/2 cups mashed bananas
2 cups all purpose flour - sifted
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup chopped nuts pecans or walnuts

Note: Bake nuts for 10 minutes 350 degrees and let cool

Mix together sugar, crisco and eggs. Stir in milk and bananas.
Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda,salt and cinnamon.
Stir in flour mixture and add nuts and vanilla.
After batter is finished let rest 20 minutes before baking.
Grease loaf pan very well.

Bake 350 degrees for 50 to 60 minutes or bread test done
let rest for 10 minutes before removing from loaf pan

This sweet lady Marge Jenkins was a neighbor. I was just learning to cook and she took an interest helping me and sharing recipes with me. This was her recipe for Banana Nut Bread.
