2 dozen top neck clams, about 1 to 1 1/2" in diameter
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon olive oil
3/4 cup chopped onion
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (14.5 oz) can whole plum tomatoes, drained and chopped
5 ounces (about 1 1/4 cups) dices smoky, fully cooked, sausage (linquica)
1/4 teaspoon paprika
2 cups dry white whine
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley

Directions:

Scrub clams with a stiff brush under cold water. Set aside
Heat butter and olive oil in a soup pot until butter melts. Saute onions and garlic over medium heat for about 5 minutes, until softened but not brown.
Add tomatoes, sausage and paprika and sauté 2 minutes. Add wine and parsley. Bring to boil and boil for 3 minutes. Gently add scrubbed clams. Cover and steam just until clams open, about 5 minutes.
