Ingredients: Jelly roll pan (cookie sheet with sides) heavy duty foil shortening
1 1/2 - 2 packages of graham crackers 1/2 butter 1/2 brown sugar 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips 3/4 cup chopped pecans (optional)

Directions: |
Directions:Preheat oven to 350º F.
Generously grease the foil lined sheet. (Don't use butter; they'll stick!) Cover sheet with crackers, side by side, filling whole sheet. Don't overlap.
In a small sauce pan, heat the butter and brown sugar to a rolling boil. Stir constantly for 1 minute. Remove from heat and pour over the crackers. Use a spoon to spread the caramel all over crackers and over their edges.
Place sheet in oven for 5 MINUTES. Time and watch closely- you don't want them to burn. When the caramel is bubbly all over, remove the sheet to stove top.
Sprinkle chocolate chips all over the hot caramel. Let them sit a few minutes until they're all melted and glossy. Spread them all over crackers with a spoon or spatula. Sprinkle on the pecans.
Place sheet in the refrigerator for one or two hours until they are hard and cold. Break into bite size pieces and enjoy!
Store in refrigerator. |

Notes: These are so good we call them "crack" at quilt retreat. I've often claimed "Nobody can eat just one" and never been proven wrong.
