2 cups flour
4 tblsps sugar
1/4 lb butter, melted
4 tsps baking powder
1 tsp salt

Beat 1 egg with fork in a cup. Add 1 tsp vanilla. Fill rest of the cup with milk. Mix all ingredients until combined. Drop on baking sheet by tablespoonfuls. Bake at 450º for 15 minutes.

This recipe was passed along to Mom by cousin Mary Ranno and is the only shortcake biscuit we've used since that happened many years ago. Mary has passed on and this would be one of the many things she left behind to delight others.
