2 c graham flour
1 lb raisins & water to cover
1 tsp baking soda
4 T cocoa
1 tsp ground cloves
1 c white flour
3 tsp cinnamon
1 1/2 c sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp allspice
1 tsp salt
1 c shortening
1 lb chopped walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Put raisins in a pan and cover with water. Bring to a boil and simmer for 5 minutes. Mix other ingredients by hand, not mixer. Combine raisins & water with flour mixture. Mix by hand. Grease pan with shortening or butter. Add cake mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes. This cake has been made in angel food cake pan, bundt pan, and loaf pans. You can experiment with whatever pan you want and watch the cake in the oven so it doesn't get too dry.
