1 2/3 c. ( 7oz ) small elbow macaroni , cooked and drained
2 T. cornstarch
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. dry mustard
1/4 tsp, ground black pepper
1 can ( 12oz ) evaporated milk - Carnation
1 c. water
2 T. butter or margarine
2 1/2 c. extra sharp shredded cheddar cheese

Preheat oven to 375º
Grease a 2 qt. casserole dish.
In medium saucepan combine cornstarch, salt, mustard, and pepper.
Stir in evaporated milk, water, and butter stirring constantly until mixture comes to a boil. Boil for 1 minute. Remove from heat and add 2 c. of cheese stirring until melted.
Add macaroni to saucepan and mix well. Pour into the casserole dish. Top with 1/2 cheese.
Bake for 20 - 25 minutes or until gloden brown and cheese on top is melted.

If you can't find extra sharp cheddar cheese sharp chedder works just as well.
