1 cup plus 2 tablespoons sifted flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup shortening
6 tablespoons white sugar
6 tablespoons packed brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon water
1 egg
6 ounce package chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375º and grease your cookie sheets. Sift together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside. Blend well the shortening, sugars, vanilla, and water. Beat in egg. Add the flour mixture and mix well. Fold in chocolate chips and nuts. Bake cookies for 9 - 10 minutes. After removing from the oven, let the cookies sit on the cookie sheet for a minute or two so you can easily remove them. Cool on a wire rack.
