Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 pkg. of black beans (1 lb.)
1 can Rotel (no substitutes) tomatoes with diced peppers
1 pkg. taco seasoning
1 Tblsp. garlic powder
about 6 cups water
Salt to taste (about 1/2 to 1 tsp.)
2 Tblsp. Bold BBQ Sauce or your choice of favorite BBQ sauce (optional)
about 5 pieces of bacon, uncooked
1 link of Hillshire Kielbasa cut into pieces
a couple of dashes of liquid smoke

Directions:
Directions:
Throw all this into the crockpot and cook on high for 5-6 hours or until beans are soft. I actually use an electric pressure cooker and cook all this on high for 28 miutes. Add more water if necessary but the beans thicken up as they cool.
The bacon needs to be removed. The only purpose for the bacon is to add flavor. If you have used the electric pressure cooker, it may dissolve. I have had it happen both ways. But remove it if you can find it. If you want more heat spice wise, add a few tablespoons of diced canned green jalepenos or add tabasco sauce.
Serve this over brown rice and any veggie and cheese that you want.

Personal Notes:
Momma has worked on perfecting this recipe for many years.
Adjust seasonings as necessary. If the beans taste bland, it's a good chance there is not enough salt in them. Any kind of chopped peppers, onions, and cilantro taste good on this. Momma Kat.
