2 cups sugar
2 cups hot water
4 T lard *
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt

2 tsp baking soda
2 T hot water
flour

Directions:
Directions:
Boil first 5 ingredients for 5 mins., cool and add 2 tsp baking soda dissolved in 2 T. water. Then add flour. Bake at 1 1/4 hours at 350º.


*Vegetable shortening could be used instead of lard.
