1 lb. of fresh sausage (Like Jimmy Dean's)
2 1/2 tsp. vegetable oil
1 1/3 cup chopped onion
2 cloves minced garlic
6 cups shredded cabbage
1 (28 oz) canned diced tomatoes
1 1/2 quarts water
2 bay leaves
1 Tblsp. basil
2 tsp. oregano
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1 tsp. of salt or to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Brown sausage in a pan. Drain half of the fat off. Add onion and garlic and simmer without browning. Add all remaining ingredients and cook until cabbage is tender. Salt and pepper as desired.
