1/2 cup butter softened
1/2 cup shortening
1-8 ounce package cream cheese softened
3 cups sugar
6 eggs
3 cups all purpose flour
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1- 6 ounce package frozen coconut, thawed
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp coconut flavoring
2 cups ground pecans, optional

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter, shortening and cream cheese; gradually add sugar beating at medium speed of mixer until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition.
Combine flour, soda and salt; add to creamed mixture stirring just until blended.
Stir in coconut, nuts and flavorings. Spoon batter into a greased and floured 10"
tube pan, bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
Cool in pan 10 to 15 minutes; remove from pan and cool completely.

This recipe is came from Barnetta C Hinote my grandmother. She was a great cook. She invented several recipes of her own. I've had this cake many times, its delicious. Hope you enjoy.
