2 c flour
4 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
3/4 tsp salt
4 T shortening
1 c buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 450 degrees F. Grease a cookie sheet.

In a large bowl mix dry ingredients. Cut in shortening to fine crumbs. Make a well and pour in buttermilk. Stir until dough just comes together. Pour onto a floured surface. Dough should be slightly sticky. Knead dough gently 5 to 6 times. Pat out to 1 inch thickness. Cut into biscuits and place on cookie sheet so they just touch.

Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until golden browned.
