2 teaspoons olive oil
2 boneless skinless chicken breast halves cut into strips
1/2 pound andouille sausage diced
1 medium onion diced
1 green bell pepper diced
1/2 cup diced celery
2 tablespoons chopped garlic
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon ground red pepper
salt and pepper
2 cups white rice
4 cups reduced sodium chicken broth
3 bay leaves
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon hot sauce

1. In a large crock pot heat the oil over medium high heat. Add the chicken and sausage and cook stirring occasionally until lightly browned about five minutes. Add the onion, pepper, celery, garlic, onion powder, red pepper, salt, and ground pepper. Cook stirring frequently until the onion is tender, about five minutes. Add the rice and stir to coat the grains.

2. Stir in the broth and bay leaves and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer, covered, until the rice is fully cooked and most of the liquid has evaporated about 20 minutes. Stir in the Worcestershire and hot pepper sauce.
