1 leftover Honey Baked Ham bone, some diced ham as well
Drippings from the leftover ham in bottom of foil packaging.
1 chopped onion
Water to cover the bone
Pepper to taste
Anasazi beans, one bag

Directions:
Directions:
Wash the beans. Pre-work by covering with boiling water and letting sit for a hour or so. Drain.

Put ham and bone in a large soup pot. Add drippings. Add enough water to cover. Add onion. Simmer for an hour or so. Add the softened beans and simmer until the beans are done. Pepper to taste.

Every Christmas, I would make this soup with our leftover bone. When Auntie Kay was alive, I would sometimes make split pea soup instead for me and Auntie Kay. We were the only two who liked it.
