2 cups sugar
1 and 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
2/3 cup cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 and 1/2 teaspoons salt
5 eggs
2 sticks butter, melted
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate morsels

Cheesecake (top layer)

3/4 cup sugar
3 tablespoons cornstarch
4 (8 ounce) bricks of cream cheese, softened
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 eggs
2 tablespoons heavy cream
2 tablespoons sour cream

Preheat oven to 350-degrees. Grease a 13 x 9" baking pan. In a large bowl, sift together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, salt and baking powder. Slowly add eggs, one at a time to the flour mixture using an electric mixer on low. Scrape sides of bowl and continue mixing until smooth. Add the melted butter and blend on low. Do not overmix. Using a large spoon or spatula, fold in the chocolate morsels.

Pour into prepared pan and bake at 350-degrees 25 - 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean. Remove from oven and let cool completely.


Cheesecake (top layer)

Preheat oven to 325-degrees. In a large bowl, cream together sugar, cornstarch and cream cheese with an electric mixer. Add lemon juice and vanilla extract. Add eggs, one at a time until well blended, scraping sides of bowl occasionally. Fold in heavy cream and sour cream.

Pour this batter over the layer of cooled brownies. Replace into oven and bake for 55 - 60 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool on counter completely. Refrigerate at least 1 hour before serving. Top with a dollop of whipped cream and enjoy!
