Ingredients: 3/4 cup walnuts (finely chopped) 1 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon 2 c. sugar divided 3/4 cup butter or margarine 3 cups flour 1 1/2 cups sour cream 3 eggs 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Directions:In a small bowl, combine walnuts, cinnamon and 3/4 cup sugar. Continued: Grease a 10 inch angel food pan. In a large bowl with mixer at medium speed beat butter or margarine with 1 1/4 cups sugar until light and fluffy. Add flour and remaining ingredients and beat at low speed until blended, constantly scraping bowl with rubber spatula. Increase speed to medium; beat 3 minutes occasionally scraping bowl. Preheat oven to 350 º. Spread half of batter in the pan; sprinkle with half nut mixture; spread evenly with remaining batter and sprinkle with remaining nut mixture. Bake 60 to 65 minutes until cake pulls away from the side of the pan. Cool cake in pan completely on wire rack. |

Notes: This is recipe from the Good Housekeeping magazine from a column called "Susan the Beginning Cook" . These were some of my first recipes as a young mother that I used. This must be 45 years old I still have the original recipe and several others written in this column.
