1 lb. sliced fresh mushrooms
1 (4 lb.) Chuck roast
1 (1.25 oz.) envelope onion soup mix
1 (12 fluid oz.) bottle beer or 1 can beef consumme'
2 onions, cut up

Directions:
Directions:
Place the mushrooms and onions in the bottom of the slow cooker; set the roast stop the mushrooms; sprinkle the onion soup mix over the beef and pour the beer over everything; season with black pepper.
Set the slow cooker to Low; cook for 9 to 10 hours until the meat is easily pulled apart with a fork.
