Ingredients:  
1 cup sugar
2 cups butter (softened overnight)
4 cups regular flour
1/4 tsp salt (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together sugar and butter, slowly add flour & salt, mixing well.
Place in ungreased 9X13 pan and pat down flat. (Pecan halves can be placed on top for each square)
Bake at 350 º until light golden brown but don't over bake.
Cut into small squares after totally cold.

Confectioner's sugar or brown sugar can also be used instead of granulated.
