1 lb. lean ground beef

1½ tsp. chili powder

1 clove garlic, minced

1¼ c. red kidney beans, rinsed and drained

½ c. sliced green onion

2 small cans tomato paste

1¼ c. chicken broth (10 oz)

1 tbsp. and 2 tsp. flour

½ tsp. ground cumin

4 oz. can chopped green chilies

Tortilla Chips

¾ cup shredded Cheddar cheese

Directions:

Combine ground beef, chili powder, and garlic in a skillet. Cook until browned. Drain; pat dry with paper towels to remove excess grease. Wipe drippings from skillet with paper towel. Return mixture to skillet. Stir in kidney beans, onions, and tomato paste.

In a saucepan, bring broth to a boil. Reduce heat to simmer. Add flour and cumin. Cook until slightly thickened, stirring
constantly.Remove from heat, stir in chilies. Set aside.

Coat baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. Line with chips. Top with 1/3 of broth over meat. Repeat layers twice. Sprinkle with cheese. Bake at 375º for 10 minutes or until cheese melts.
