1/2 cup Warm water
5 cups flour
2 T sugar
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
3/4 cup shortening
2 cups milk

Directions:
Dissolve yeast in warm water; set aside. Sift dry ingredients into a bowl; cut in shortening until crumbly. Add yeast mixture and milk; mix well. Store in covered container overnight (or a few hours at least) until read for use.
When ready roll out enough needed and cut into biscuits. Bake at 450º F in greased pan for 12-15 minutes. These can be made into cinnamon rolls by rolling out some dough into a rectangle, spreading with melted butter and sugar (brown or white) with cinnamon. Add raisins and/or nuts if desired. Frost with powdered sugar icing. These do not have to rise before baking..
