1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 package Fleischmann's active dry yeast
1/3 cup milk
1/3 cup water
2 Tbsp. margarine
2 eggs (at room temperature)

In a large bowl thoroughly mix 1 cup flour, sugar, salt and undissolved yeast. Combine milk, wate and margarine in a saucepan. Heat over low hea unti liquids are warm (margarine does not need to melt). Gradually add to dry ingredients and beat 2 minutes at medium speed of electric mixer, scraping bowl occasionally. Add eggs and 1/2 cup flour, or enough flour to make a thick batter. Beat at high speed 2 minutes, scraping bowl occasionally. Stir in enough additional flour to make a soft dough. Turn out onto lightly floured board; knead until smooth and elastic, about 8 to 10 minutes. Place in greased bowl, turning to grease top. Cover; let rise in warm place, free from draft, until doubled in bulk, about 1 hour.

Punch dough down; turn out onto lightly floured board. Roll out to 1/2 inch thickness. Cut circles with a 2 1/2 inch biscuit cutter. Place about 2 inches apart on greased baking sheets. Cover, let rise in warm place, free of drafts until doubled in bulk, about 1 hour.

Press an indentation in the center of each bun, leaving a rim about 1/4" wide. Fill with pie filling.
