1 cup all-purpose flour, sifted before measuring
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 eggs beaten
1 tablespoon melted shortning
1/2 cup milk
ripe bananas
lemon juice
sugar
vegetable oil for frying.

Directions:
Directions:
Sift the flour with salt and baking powder. Mix together eggs, melted shortning and milk. Add to flour mixture and mix thoroughly. Peel bananas, cut in half lengthwise, then cross wise. Sprinkle with lemon juice and sugar. Dip in batter and fry until golden brown
