Ingredients:
2/3 cup butter 2 teas. vanilla
2/3 cup sugar 2 teas. baking soda
2 eggs 2 teas. salt
1 1/3 cups honey 5 ¾ cups flour
2 pounds Hershey chocolate kisses, unwrapped
1 – 12 oz. chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Using a large mixer, cream together butter, sugar, eggs, honey, vanilla, soda and salt.
Gradually add flour. Chill dough several hours or overnight. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Pinch off pieces of dough the size of walnuts and roll into balls. Evenly space 12 balls on greased cookie sheet. Do 1 sheet of cookies at a time. Dip glass 2 inches in diameter into granulated sugar and flatten balls. Bake 7-10 minutes just until cookies start to brown. Remove cookie sheet from oven and quickly place a chocolate kiss slightly below center, 2 chocolate chips for “ears” at center top of kiss, and 1 chocolate chip at lower right of kiss for “tail”. Return sheet to oven for 45-60 seconds to slightly melt the kiss and chips. Remove sheet from oven. With a toothpick gently squash the kiss to flatten the “body”, swirl the 2 “ear” chips into head and up with 2 points to make ears. Pull and flip up the lower chip for the “tail”. (Be careful heating the chips and kiss, so they will spread correctly.)

"This is a cookie recipe from our dear friend Debbie Kruse. She would make these cookies for her family every Halloween and always set aside a plate for the Navarre family. She knew how much Dave loved her cookies.
