1 pound ground sirloin or round
1 pound ground chuck
3 (14.5 oz.) diced tomatoes- crushed
1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
1 jar Prego spaghetti sauce (Traditional)
2 cloves garlic, mince
1 large onion chopped
2 bay leaves
salt and pepper
2 tsp of italian seasoning
1 tsp sugar
fresh basil
fresh oregano
at least 1 cup of water

Note: you may substitute 2 pounds ground turkey

Brown meat and onions together. Add garlic at the very end of browning.
Drain meat, add the rest of the ingredients..
I have a hand mixer I use to crush the tomatoes, I keep some lumps
Make sure you add water as needed. I like my spaghetti a little thick.
I let it simmer for a couple of hours. The longer the better.
Mix up a side salad and garlic bread and your ready for a great supper.

Over the years, I tried many variations for spaghetti sauce and after many mistakes, I finally came up with a sure fire recipe!!! Hope each of you enjoy!!
