2-1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup white Karo syrup
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup pecans, chopped
1/2 cup hot water
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Bring sugar, hot water, and Karo to hard boil. Add slowly to stiffly beaten egg whites. Add salt and beat until rather stiff. Add pecans and vanilla.

I can remember Momma and Aunt Millie making this; stirring until they thought their arms might fall off. I was so sad and upset to fail at this as a young wife until I found out the Louisiana humidity would not cooperate. Lynette
