1 cup Crisco shortening
2 cups sugar
4 whole eggs
1 cup milk
2 cups self-rising flour
1 tbsp. butternut flavoring

Frosting:
1 box powdered sugar
1 stick margarine, softened
1 pkg. (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened
1 cup pecans, chopped
1 tbsp. butternut flavoring

Directions:
Directions:
Grease and flour three cake pans. Cream together shortening and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each. Add milk alternately with flour, then add flavoring. Bake in three layers at about 350º, depending on oven, until golden brown and top springs back to touch.

Frosting: Mix powdered sugar, margarine, and cream cheese. Add nuts and butternut flavoring. Ice cake. (It's easier to blend if margarine and cream cheese are room temperature.)
