2 cups of sifted flour
1 1/4 cups sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup soft shortening
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 cup mashed bananas~~(about 2)
3 eggs
1/2 cup finely chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
1. sift dry ingredients
2. add shortening, 1/2 buttermilk & mashed bananas
3. beat 2 minutes, scrapping sides of bowl frequently
4. add eggs & remainder of buttermilk
5. beat 2 more minutes & fold in nuts
6. place in greased & floured pan

bake at 325* for 1 hour then frost if desired
