2 yeast cakes or 2 yeast packages
1/2 cup lukewarm water
1 1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup sugar
2 tsp salt
1/4 cup shortening
1 egg beaten
6 to 7 cups sifted plain flour

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat 425 degrees

Soften yeast in lukewarm water (if using the yeast cakes)
Scald milk
Add sugar, salt, and shortening
Add to lukewarm water
Add 2 cups flour, beat well
Add yeast and egg. Mix well.
Add remaining flour to make soft dough
Turn out on lightly floured board and knead until dough is smooth.
Place in lightly greased bowl and cover. Place in refrigerator.
When wanted, remove from refrigerator and punch down.
Mold at once in desired shape. Place in greased pan and let rise about 1 1/2 to 2 hours.

Bake in 425 degree oven 15 to 20 minutes.
