Ingredients:  
Ingredients:  
-put 1 cup of water into soup pot,bring to boil
-add 1/3 cup long grain rice
-chop an onion fine and add to the water and rice
-peel tomatoes, about a quart
-chop up or puree them, what ever is you choice
-add to rice mixture
-bring to a slow boil
-add 1 tsp salt
-and 2 T. sugar
-dash of pepper
-bring to a gentle boil
-add 1/2 tsp baking soda
-after it fizzes out, add 1/2 cup cream or more to your taste
just before serving add a tsp butter

On behalf of Lorie Kehler ( Steg) Eleanor's daughter, this is my favorite soup. Mom never had a recipe for this soup, so thankfully I stood beside her as she made it and wrote down every step. She was always one to throw things together and it was always amazing.
