Directions: |
Directions:1 large dutch oven - boil 1 small box of elbow macaroni until it is tender. Once it is done, drain the water and set aside. Mix all the various cheeses with butter, milk, at a low heat; add sour cream last. When the mixture reaches a very creamy texture, dump in the macaroni and stir until it has a fluffy texture. Taste to see if more cheese is needed. Our family loves the taste of American and cheddar. This recipe can be altered to suit your desire but it is truly a crowd pleaser. Enjoy! |

Notes: Ethel Lee is my husbands cousin ( who took on the role of a older sister). They grew up very close. Ethel was a very bossy - take charge person. She had a beautiful personality and never met a stranger. She had the ability to make you feel at home and kept everyone laughing. On Friday evenings after work, she would call all of the siblings over for dinner. It was fried chicken, mac & cheese (always) and perhaps something else - like potato salad. Everyone loved this mac & cheese and I hope you will also. Ethel left us in 1998 and the family has never been the same. Her recipe is part of the cookbook in her loving memory.
