Ingredients:
Ingredients:
(A single person can eat for week on one pot)
4 tbsp. of Fat. (Any type of oil will work but real butter is best)
Salt
Black pepper
Paprika
Garlic powder.
1 onion
8oz of mushrooms.
1 15oz can of tomato sauce
1 cup of leftover brewed coffee
1 tbsp. of mustard
2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
Various vegetables for stewing. Carrots, corn, potatoes, Chayote, turnips, etc. (Whatever is cheapest but avoid things that will get too soft)
Bay leaf
2 lbs. of stew meat (Any beef will do as long as its cut into small pieces.) (Cheap beef works well.)
Everything should be cut into fairly small pieces to help create an even distribution of flavor.

Directions:
Directions:
• In a large stew pot melt the fat on a low heat.
• Add seasoning into the fat and allow it to cook for a minute or so on low heat. Be careful not to overheat and burn it.
• Add in the onions and mushrooms and cook until the onions are caramelized. (These are both necessary and for flavor. They help disguise cheap meat and add richness. If you chop them up very finely, and really cook them down, then people who do not like onions or mushrooms won’t notice or taste them.)
• Add the beef and brown it but do not overcook. It will finish cooking while it stews.
• Add the can of tomato sauce, leftover coffee, and enough water to fill the pot about 2/3 full.
• Add mustard and Worcestershire sauce.
• Add the vegetables.
• Add the bay leaf.
• Allow the stew to simmer for about 15 minutes and check taste. Add additional spices if needed. (Coffee can help make the flavor deeper and mustard can make the flavor sharper.)
• Simmer on low another 30 minutes.
• Let sit as long as possible before serving. Tastes best the next day when it has been re-heated.
