2 c. sugar
1 c. butter (1/2 of which can be Crisco)
2 eggs
1/2 c. orange juice
Grated peel of 1 orange
1 c. sour cream
1 t. baking soda
4 1/2 c. flour
2 t. baking powder

Orange Icing:
1 lb. box powdered sugar
4 - 5 T. softened butter

Directions:
Directions:
Beat sugar, butter and eggs until well mixed.
Add orange juice and grated peel of orange, beat on low speed until mixed.
Add sour cream (mixed with baking soda,), alternately with flour (mixed with baking powder).
Drop by well-rounded teaspoons onto greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 350º for 8-10 minutes. Cookies will barely brown and not appear done. Move to cooling rack and cool completely before frosting.

Frost with orange icing - mix powdered sugar with butter, beat on high speed until fluffy. Add enough orange juice to make spreading consistency.
