6 cups apples,sliced (I use Jonathan apples if I can find them.)
1 cup sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 cup flour
1-1/2 tbsp. butter

Crust for 2 crust pie
2 cups flour
1 cup shortening
1/2 tsp. salt
6-8 tbsp. cold water, may take more

Directions:
Directions:
Mix sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and flour all together and stir into apples. Cover and let stand while making crust.

Crust: Mix flour and salt, then cut in shortening with a pastry blender. Sprinkle with water and mix with pastry fork. Roll out a little more than half of dough; place in bottom of pie plate. Put apples on top of bottom crust and place butter pats on top. Roll out rest of dough and place on top of apples; seal edges. Cut air holes in crust. Bake at 350º for 50-60 minutes until crust is nicely browned.
