Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1/4 c. balsamic vinegar
1/4 c. vegetable oil
2 Tbsp. brown sugar
2 Tbsp. soy sauce (preferably low-sodium)
4 green onions, chopped (may used dried chives if needed)
2 cloves garlic, pressed
pepper to taste
1 lb. flank steak (will be enough marinade for up to 2 lb.)

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all ingredients in a large, zipper-topped bag. Stab the beef all over with a fork and place it in the bag. Cover with marinade and refrigerate overnight.

Beef can be grilled or roasted in the oven. To roast, preheat oven to 500º. Place a metal baking pan (about a 13 x 9) in the bottom third of the oven and allow it to heat up for 10 minutes. Add the meat and marinade to the hot metal pan. For medium rare, roast the flank steak for about 7 minutes. Turn it and roast 7 minutes more. Slice thinly and serve with chopped green onions over the top.

WARNING: Do NOT use a glass baking dish -- it will shatter!
