Ingredients:  
3 cans of sliced beets or 6 cups of cooked, sliced beets.
Drain beets, reserving 1 1/2 C of the beet liquid.
Place beets in medium saucepan along with the reserved liquid and:
1 C Sugar
1 C Vinegar
2 T Cornstarch
24 Whole Cloves
3 T Catsup
1 T Cooking Oil (optional)
1 tsp Vanilla
Dash of Salt

Directions:

Mix well.
Cook for 3 minutes over medium heat or until the mixture thickens.
Let it cool and then store in the refrigerator.
