Mix together:
1/4 c warm water
2 pkg yeast
6 T sugar
Set aside. Cream together:
1 c butter, softened
3 eggs
1 c sour cream
Add yeast mixture and 5 c. flour (2.5 c at a time) and mix well.

Divide dough into 4 equal parts, each makes 1 stollen. Wrap in wax paper and refrigerate overnight. Make cheese filling by cream together until smooth:
3-8 oz pkg cream cheese, softened
3 egg yolks, 3 tsp vanilla, and 9 T sugar.
Roll dough into rectangle on floured surface. Spread cream cheese filling leaving 1 inch of dough around edge uncovered. Lap long sides of dough over top of cheese. Seal edges. Let rise for 1 hour. Bake @ 375 for 25 min. until golden brown. Frost with powdered sugar glaze or orange glaze. May sprinkle with finely chopped nuts. Makes 4 stollens.
