1 1/2 c flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 c shortening
1/2 c brown
1/2 c white sugar
2 eggs
1 T hot water
1 tsp vanilla
1 c chopped walnuts
1 to 1 1/2 c chocolate chips
2 c rolled oats

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour, soda and salt together. Cream shortening and sugars together until fluffy. Mix eggs, hot water and vanilla. Blend in dry ingredients, nuts, chocolate chips and rolled oats. Drop on greased cooking sheet. Bake at 350º for 11-12 minutes.
