2 tbsp. water
4 1/2 tbsp. granulated sugar
2 1/3 cup sifted confectioner's sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 egg
2/3 cup shortening (half butter)
1 tsp. vanilla
Directions:
Directions:
In a small saucepan, boil water and granulated sugar for 1 minute, cool.

In a medium mixing bowl, beat confectioner's sugar and salt with egg. Add sugar syrup and mix well. Then add shortening and vanilla. Beat until creamy.

Make enough to ice a two layer, 9" cake
