2 cups raisins
2 cups water
1 cup shortening
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
3½ cups flour
½ tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. allspice
½ tsp. cloves

Directions:
Directions:
Boil together raisins, water and shortening for about 10 minutes, then cool. In separate bowl combine all dry ingredients. Add sugar and eggs to the raisin mixture, then add in the dry ingredients. This can be mixed right in the kettle. Pour into greased jelly roll pan 9x13. Bake at 350º 12-18 minutes.
