1 lb. extra-lean ground beef
2 teaspoons salt
2 8-oz. cans tomato sauce
1 1/3 cup Minute Rice
12 cup dry bread crumbs
¼ cup green pepper, chopped
1/8 teaspoon oregano
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 cup water
1 cup grated cheese

Directions:
Directions:
Combine beef, bread crumbs, onion, green pepper, 1 ½ teaspoon salt, oregano, pepper, and ½ cup tomato sauce. Press mixture onto sides and bottom of greased 9-inch pie plate.

Combine rice, remaining tomato sauce, ½ teaspoon salt, water and 3/4 cup cheese. Spoon into meat shell. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Top with remaining cheese and bake uncovered 10-15 minutes longer until cheese is melted and starting to turn golden.

An early-marriage recipe I made often 'cause we had to pinch pennies. Dress the meal up with a crisp salad and some Texas Toast. Yummm! Gourmet eating!
