I Can Lye
1 Quart Water
1/2 Cup Borax
1/2 Cup Purosene
1/2 Cup Ammonia
5 lbs Clean Grease
1 Clean Stick

Directions:
Directions:
Pit into a stone jar one can of lye, pour on the lye a quart of water. Let it cool.
Add a half cut of borax (first dissolve the borax in water).
Mix together 1/2 cup purosene and 1/2 cup of ammonia. Have ready, 5 lbs clean grease warmed in a granite pan.
Pour the grease into the lye. Next the ammonia and oil, last, the borax.
Constantly stir with a clean stick.
When well blended, pour in strong, shallow box. Lit it harden 24 hours, then cit into bars.
Dry out well before using.
