Ingredients: 1 loaf french bread or other bread (hotdog buns) 1 tablespoon mustard 1⁄3 cup ketchup 1⁄4 teaspoon garlic salt 1 pound ground beef 1 can Campbell's Chicken gumbo soup 4 slices cheese or 1 cup shredded cheese

Directions:Cut bread in half lengthwise. Hollow out both halves slightly. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cook beef in large skillet until no pink remains. Add ketchup, mustard, soup & garlic salt to drained beef. Bring mixture to boiling, then lower heat to simmer for 5 minutes. Spoon beef mixture into the hollow of one half of bread. Cut cheese slices (or sprinkle shredded) to cover the meat filling. Put other half of bread on top. Wrap in foil. Bake at 350* for 15 minutes. Cut & serve! |

Notes: This recipe was gifted to me in a recipe box when I got married. The only title was "Mom's Special Sandwich" & I have yet to find a real name for it--so the name stuck. It is a twist on the sloppy joe & has a unique taste. One of Ty's favorite meals.
