4 cups La Pina Flour*
2 tsp baking powder
Approximately 1 tsp salt
4 tbsp sugar
½ cup shortening
Luke warm water
Oil for Frying
Addition Sugar to sprinkle on Buenolos

La Pina Flour is not longer made. Great Value (Walmart brand works well)

Mix dry ingredients together. Add shortening and mix with hands. Add just enough water to make dough. Knead

Make into bolitas . Roll into tortillas, as thin as you can. Stretch by hand to make them even thinner

Lay our to dry (this is when we usually have breakfast)

Fry in oil. Sprinkle with sugar

We have a well expected routine when we make bunuelos.
We start with coffee and Pan dulce while Lola makes the dough and Kathi makes the bolitas.
David, Roni and Lola roll out them out then Michael & Jimmy stretch them out.
Aunt Diane makes chorizo, chilaquiles and eggs for breakfast to enjoy while we wait for the bunuelos to dry. They more they dry the better they fry.
