2 ¼ cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 cup butter or margarine, softened
¼ cup sugar
¾ cup brown sugar
1 package (4 serving size) instant pudding (vanilla or chocolate)
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Mix flour and baking soda. Combine butter, the sugars, pudding mix and vanilla in a large mixer bowl; beat until smooth and creamy. Beat in eggs. Gradually add flour mixture; then stir in the chocolate chips by hand. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets about 2 inches apart. Bake at 375º for 8-10 minutes. Makes about 7 dozen.

To turn these into Snickerdoodles:
Omit chocolate chips. Mix 1/4 cup sugar and 2 tsp cinnamon in small bowl. Shape tablespoonfuls of dough into 40 balls; roll, in batches, in cinnamon sugar until evenly coated. Bake the same.
