Directions:Melt cocoa candy wafers/chocolate chips in a the microwave (at 50% power, in 30 second increments) or in a saucepan on the stove (medium heat). Dip the flat side of a cut marshmallow into the melted chocolate and stick it to upper side of the apple to form one of Mickey's ears. Do the same for the other side. Let it set at least 2 minutes. Now dip the entire caramel apple into the melted chocolate until it is completely covered, ears and all. Gently shake off the excess. Place on a baking sheet lined with wax paper and let set at least 30 minutes until hardened.
Melt vanilla candy wafers/white chocolate chips the same way as directed above. Dip the bottom half of the chocolate apple into the white chocolate (these will be Mickey's pants). Shake off the excess. Place 2 yellow jelly beans on the front of the lower half of the apple (these will be Mickey's buttons). Using a large spoon, sprinkle the red sugar crystals on the apple until all of the white chocolate has been covered. Place on a wax paper-lined baking sheet and let set until hardened. |

Notes: Wash and dry apples well. This will prevent the caramel from sliding down the sides. Push sticks into centers of apples. Melt caramels and milk on medium heat in a large saucepan, stirring constantly. When the caramel has reached a soft liquid stage, dip the apples, one at a time, into the caramel. Place on sheets of buttered wax paper and let harden overnight.
