1 C shortening
1 1/2 C sugar
1 egg
1 can crushed pineapple, with juice
3 1/2 C flour
1 t soda
1/2 t soda
1/4 t nutmeg
1/2 C chopped nuts (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Mix shortening, sugar and eggs thoroughly. Stir in pineapple. Mix flour, soda, salt and nutmeg. Blend in. Mix in nuts. Chill for 1 hour.

Heat oven to 400º. Drop rounded teaspoonful of dough about 2" apart on lightly greased baking sheet. Bake 8-10 minutes or until no imprint remains when touched.
