6 Tbsp. salt
6 Tbsp. water
6 Tbsp. liquid bluing
1 Tbsp. ammonia
asst. food colors
sm. pieces of coal

Directions:
Directions:
Mix together the salt, water, liquid bluing, and ammonia. Pour the mixture over several pieces of coal arranged in a deep dish. Scatter a few drops of various shades of food coloring over the coal for color. The "plant" will grow over the next week or so.

This is just a fun "recipe" for the kids. I remember doing this when I was probably 7 or 8. Help your kids or grandkids make this and I think they will enjoy watching it grow.
